Jason is the founder member of ShootersFC which was set up over ten years with a focus on player development and encouraging players to reach their potential rather than a win at all cost which was more common in that period. The club continues to invest in player development with recent introduction of a club partner SOCCA for players to continue their football development at the next level with opportunity to play in the JPL and for players to move up and down to aid their individual development process.
As a FA Level 3 coach and FA Level 2 Talent ID scout. He has worked in the football industry for over 25 years including the renowned youth academy at Southampton FC. Jason has a wealth of experience in Football, he is a Sports Development Manager for CiCs - Coaching in Community sports and Lead Pre Academy coach, Lead Scout and Global coach for Southampton FC
Team Biography
Our U6s and 7s in both Andover and Basingstoke are currently in their early development phase, making new friends, learning basic skills, understanding basic rules and falling in love with the game. We would normally continue to train and play friendly fixtures until the new year when we will then enter the league and start to play arranged fixtures on a weekly basis.
With Covid and lockdown this has delayed for this season.
We have had much success with this format. Players will have opportunity to progress through the club to play regular local football at ShootersFC, progress to compete in the Junior Premier League (JPL) with our partner club SOCCA or if at the level progress to a Professional academy. As a club we actively encourage children to 'give it a go' when invited to professional clubs and with our experience try to support both the player and the parents during this opportunity.
